How to describe the Natchez trace? I'm not sure I can do it justice. Beautiful pavement. Almost no traffic. Sounds of cicadas after the rain that became almost a roar. Like the sound you here when you ride in a subway. Beautiful trees and abundant history. Truly a cyclist's paradise. Lots of rolling hills but with the tree lined road you can't really tell whether you're going uphill or downhill unless you look at your speed!
The ride was great. Curtis joined us for the first part and shared history and more stories. He got us going at a good pace, and Todd maintained it for the rest of the day. It was a treat to get a chance to rest and draft so much!
Here's a short video clip of the early part of the ride with an entertaining interview with Curtis Moroney. We really appreciated him taking the time to join us today!
Curtis is great, fun to ride with ...made me look big! Seriously, I need to work on my tan, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful video. Very inspiring! 300 years old....from the perspective of someone who is from London that doesn't seem all that old. Educational too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful ride. I think Curtis is a gem-what a wonderful bike ambassador for Natchez Trace. Hope we can bike there some day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the video and interview of Curtis. He seems like a nice fellow and certainly has that southern accent. Enjoy the rest of the Natchez Trace trail -- it looks lovely.
